"The central experience of creativity is mystical".  These are words I live by in my artistic life. I am a Chicana who was born at the Japanese Hospital in Boyle Heights and raised in East Los Angeles.

I have so many images as a child growing up there.  It was "My Mexico".  The neighborhood does not look the same, but those memories have stayed in my heart.

My antepasados (ancestors) are always with me and constantly speak to me of their experiences and their views of the world. It is because of their mentoring and guidance that I am able to be an artist. I have been and artist all my life.  But only in the last 20 years, has it been fully realized.  I am a self taught artist.

My main body of work is installation art.  I use Mayan, Aztec and African symbology.  The bead work I do was discovered in my thereupeutic process and eventually was integrated into my spiritual/artistic life.

I am ever evolving as a Mujer, Artista, Espiritulista, Mestiza, Gitana, Chicana.  Thank you/Gracias for visiting me on this wonderful site.
